Guest Post Guidelines

Have a great article you think our readers would love to read?

We’re happy to collaborate but here are some of our rules before you submit an article:

1) Guest post topics

Your post must be related to drumming, this could include topics such as:

• drum gear
• drum accessories
• drum machines
• sampling
• playing technique
• tuning the drums
• learning to read music
• recording
• rehearsal studios
• and more…

2) Article guidelines

• We only accept original, unpublished work.
• The article must be high quality and you should have some expertise in the subject you’re writing about.
• Your website must be high quality so that we can link back to it.
• We prefer in-depth articles – as a guideline 800+ words at a minimum.
• For shorter articles you can include one link back to your site, for longer articles we can agree on a number.

3) Article formatting

• Always use simple sentences, 20 words per sentence is a good rule of thumb.
• Avoid unnecessary filler words, we want our articles to be packed with great info.
• Paragraphs should be no more than 3 to 5 sentences long.
• Use H2, H3, and H4 formatting for subheadings wherever appropriate.
• Stick to no more than 300 words in between each subheading.
• Add bulleted lists wherever possible to break up dense chunks of text.
• If you’re including images, also add the image source. We may change the images if they don’t fit in with the aesthetics of our blog.

4) Author bio

• Provide a short author bio, around 2 paragraphs is a good length.
• Send us a profile headshot image, or even better a photo of you playing the drums like we have for our other writers.
